Standard Erlenmeyer flasks are primarily intended for mixing applications; they are suitable for moderate heating only. Avoid subjecting the glasware to high flames. Heat all liquids slowly and allow glassware to cool gradually—placing hot glassware on cold or wet surfaces, or cold labware on hot surfaces, may cause the glass ot shatter.
