This protective cage is available as an accessory for the WP 410 experimental unit. The oscillating hammer or a breaking specimen in the Charpy notched bar impact test represent a potential hazard. Therefore the protective cage is strongly recommended as a safety device when carrying out Charpy notched bar impact tests.
The protective cage is bolted in place on the WP 410 experimental unit and forms a protected working area for conducting experiments. A door in the protective cage allows access to the impact tester. The specimen can be removed via a second, smaller door.
For safety reasons, the impact tester only triggers when the door is closed.
